Esther Tetruashvily is AI Standards Specialist at OpenAI, where she collaborates across safety, product, policy, and legal teams to advance strategic AI governance initiatives. She represents OpenAI in prominent standards bodies, including C2PA, Frontier Model Forum, and NIST. Previously a U.S. diplomat, Tetruashvily served in Central Asia, China, NATO, and on the Russia Desk in Washington, D.C. Currently completing her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center, she is a Tech Law & Policy Scholar focusing on encryption, quantum computing, and AI geopolitics. Tetruashvily is a Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree (Law & Policy, 2019), a Thomas Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellow, and a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow. She holds an M.A. from Harvard and was a Fulbright Fellow in Azerbaijan.
